Vessel Named by Mrs G Alan Marr wife of director of the owners

29 Sept 1964 after completing fishing trials from the 15 Sept arrived in Hull

Maiden voyage of 42 days  with 22 days of actual fishing to Labrador and Newfoundland completing over 7,000 miles on the trip

June 1965 Landed the British Record with 507 tonnes of codstuff

15 Jan 1966 1.35 am Northella was in collision with the Regent Oil Jetty at Killingholme the skipper was knocked overboard but was safely picked up. The vessel was holed and her engine room flooded a mayday was sent at 1.40 am, which was answered by the Immingham tog Lady Theresa arriving at 2.14 am. Whilst been towed to Immingham water was still entering the vessel and she was in danger of sinking. The decision to beach the vessel was made to allow her to be pumped out, the Lady Theresa removed 26 of the crew , who apart from 2 cases of exposure were unijured and landed them at Immingham. Two days after the collision on the 17th the Northella was refloated and taken to Immigham graving dock for repairs.
