Maiden voyage 5 Days to Iceland - 1713 kits of fish making £8,448

1972 Due to the succesful venture of the Boston Lincoln fishing off Argentina and the ability to catch 200-300 tonnes of hake found in large shoals per day, the Argentinian Governmet declared a 100 mile fishing limit. The venture also proved the worth of vessels fishing the Falkland Islands waters.

Terry and Harry Williams had left the Cordella H177 to join the Boston Lincoln together, On the 30 Jan 1974 just after 7pm while fishing on the White sea grounds, a pin which had jammed a cable was being struck with a spanner by Terry, when it released and caught him dragging him over the bulwarks to the stern ramp, where he unconsiously slid down the ramp into th sea. Harry his younger brother leapt over the starboard side onto the ramp in an attempt to save his brother but also slid into the icy water. A lifebelt was thrown to harry who was seen to hold it for a while, but let go in an attempt to reach his brother. The trawler made an immediate turn but the brothers were not seen again. The Boston Lincoln headed home to Hull. The bodies of both brothers washed up ashore together in Russia and were brought back to Immingham on the cable layer Lindisfarne and then to Hull.
