07 Nov 1973 Wednesday While fishing in approximate position 70 . 26 N / 37 .43 E at 0800 in the morning we where hit by a Russian Trawler BN4373, at the time we had been towing easterly about 070 degrees, we took evasive action going full speed and hard to starboard but the Russian vessel still struck us on the port quarter inflicting damage to our bulwark rails above deck level.

13 Nov Tuesday Whilst picking up anchor at Honningsvaag oil jetty our engine went half astern ? not ahead, unable to avoid stern of ship touching rocks, at 11.19 Hrs we contacted the Ross Valient to tow us clear to town quay - Norwegian Tug Paret 1000 Hp started towing us from Honnigsvaag.

0930 Hrs Friday 16 Nov chopped anchor Tromso.

12.45 Hrs Sunday Awaiting bigger tug Bella Salvator 8,000 Hp / 193 ft / 933 tons. , for tow for home.

17.45 Hrs 30 Nov Tuesday left Tromso for home Bella Salvator towing - Towing speed 10 - 13 Knts - Tug Paret on stern, 1800 Hrs took us and tugs a full turn to port to avois us hitiing Russian Cargo ship Bolinsky.

0900 Hrs 21 Nov Wednesday Lodigen Changed pilots going in south fjord for bad weather. 12.00 hrs left Rovick for run across, Bella Salvator reports unsafe to carry on, turned round heading for nearest port, dropped anchor Namsen Fjord at 15.15 Hrs.

0830 22 Nov Thursday Got anchor up weather gale force 8-9 N W , 11.00 Hrs Bella Salvator nearly run ashore could not hold tow so turned back but have taken heavy water, now laid too Bella Salvator in Namsen Fjord while they carry out repairs to starboard rails and afterdeck.

0900 24 Nov Saturday left Namsen Fjord to try again 20.00 at Kristiansaand Bella Salvator changed mate and crew left, 22.00 left for home towing speed 10 - 14 Knts.

27 Nov Arrived Bull Light Ship 0830 dropped anchor Grimsby roads 20.30. 04.00 Bella Salvator left for Bergen.

07.30 28 Nov Wednesday after been towed by the tugs Lloydsman and Trawlerman we where alongside at St Andrews Dock.
