LLOYD WILLIAM . . . Skipper / Owner 01 Aug 1873 ASSAULT AT SEA : William Lloyd smackowner and Captain, was summoned for assaulting William Gasson, Captain of the smack Lincolnshire Lass. On 26th May 1873. Whilst the Lincolnshire Lass was becalmed on the Dutch coast, the defendant came on board her, at that time he was worse for drink; he assaulted complainant, and he stabbed another of the hands. Mr Spur appeared for the complainant, and Mr Laverack for the defendant. Fined 40s and costs.

LLOYD WILLIAM . . . Smack Owner 07 Nov 1884 George Davison and William Mitchell, fishing apprentices, were charged with refusing to obey their master`s orders. The lads were bound to William Lloyd, a smackowner and on Tuesday they ought to have gone to sea, but both the lads ran away, and came back again after their vessel had sailed. Mr Loyd overlooked this offence, and on Friday he sent them to do some work up in the net-room. He went out in the morning, and the lads ran away again, going down the docks, and refused to come back when he told them. Prosecutor believed Mitchell was led away by the other youth. Mr Twiss said: This cannot be passed over without some punishment, and you must each be taught you cannot dispute the lawful commands of your master, either at home or at sea, with impunity, Davison, I am told, you are the worst of the two, and you must be imprisoned for 14 days, and you, Mitchell, for 10 days, each with hard labour.

Fishermans Outfitter 1903 George Weston was charged with unlawfully, by means of false pretences, obtaining from William LLoyd one pair of wellington boots, one oilskin frock, a quantity of tobacco one pocket knife, and 6d in money on 11th May 1903. Prisoner went to the shop at 336 Hessle Rd and asked for the articles as he was going to Iceland in the Trawler Cave, as sparehand the same night. It was subsequently discovered that he ahd not shipped in that vessel at all. Prisoner pleaded Guilty remanded for 3 days.
